"The Reward"
By Jacqueline Deely

After two rainy days on a recent Aperture Academy workshop in Yosemite, my final day was rewarded with this magnificent scene. I could not have asked for more!

"That is pretty unusual. I've seen the clouds lift off a mountain before after a heavy rain followed by hot sun, but not at all like this. It looks like there's a fire!"

"Good job! You had a good teacher."

"Beautiful! The clouds around El Cap are so fun to watch. Glad you were able to be there and capture this. What a great memory for you! Yosemite has been a very challenging place for me. I have yet to capture anything that I'm really excited about. It can be a frustrating experience for sure, and yet I can't wait to go back!"

"Wonderful shot - love the fall colours, and the cloud makes it look like the mountain's on fire!"

"Thanks everyone. Appreciate the comments. This was my first visit to Yosemite and I can't wait to go back for more!"

"What a wonderful example of "juxtaposition of verisimilitude". Actually I have no idea what that means, but I've always wanted to use it. Maybe I'm better off just saying "gorgeous" yet again. I envy you your first visit to Yosemite. It only happens once. Yosemite is always beautiful, but the first view is a once in a lifetime experience. Congratulations, Marty"
